Ash Cave
Located in the southern edge of Hocking County, Ash Cave can be reached by walking a handicap accessible trail that leads hikers through a beautiful gorge lined with stately hemlocks. Although the cave was named for the huge pile of ashes found by early settlers in the cave shelter, the source of the ashes is still a mystery.
Old Man’s Cave
One of the most popular attractions at Hocking Hills State Park, Old Man's Cave is a grand display of nature's beauty with its covering of Eastern Hemlocks, cliffs and waterfalls. Thousands of years of water flowing through the valley have cut away the Blackhand Sandstone and provided a trail for visitors to follow.
