Hi! My name is Steve. I have been passionate about motorcycling ever since I was about 13 years old, when my Uncle and Cousins turned me onto dirt bikes and Harleys. At age 16, I got my first street bike, a Kawasaki S1-250, which I ripped around on everywhere until I hit a car and wrecked it.
After walking around with a cane for about 2 months, I bought another bike, a Honda 350 Enduro, that I rode to work and played around with in the dirt. About the time I blew it up, and had it apart on my living room floor, was the time that I met my future wife Debbie.
I never did get the 350 back together, but I bought another bike, a Honda CB500T that I rode to work. And when we could get our folks to watch our young son Joshua, Debbie and I would do little day trips.
In 1982 we moved to Colorado for a new career opportunity. As it happens with many of us raising our children, my priorities had changed alittle, and I didn't have a bike for about 15 years. But everytime I would see someone on a bike, that desire to ride would come back.
After our son graduated high school and decided to move out on his own, that desire to ride came back stronger than ever.
I was happy when Harley took back the company from AMF, and spent some time drooling on the bikes at the local Harley-Davidson dealer before I bought a Heritage Softail Classic. Being empty nesters, Debbie and I had alot more time to tour around the Southwest.
After a few years of riding behind me, Debbie decided she wanted her own bike. She decided on a Harley- Davidson 1200 custom, which she named Lucy. She had never rode a bike on her own before, and the bike sat there for a month until she took the new riders course through Abate.
The day after she aced the class, we went on about a 200 mile ride. Since then we have logged about 40 thousand miles together and we are looking forward to riding many more in the future.
While working for a local Harley-Davidson dealer setting up tour routes and discounts for guided tours, I came up with the concept for Motorcycle Traveler. Com.
Last winter I took some courses on web design so that I could persue the idea and create the website. I hope it is helpful and I will continue to try to improve upon it and make it better and better

Ride Safe .

Steve and Debbie Kitts
